Under the Guardianship of Prof Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, a Scientific Symposium has been organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Planning, entitled

“Localization of Industrial Activities in Babylon Governorate
& their Role in the Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals”

The Symposium has dealt with several issues, most importantly, are the reinforcement of Iraqi Industry, and achievement of Sustainable Industrial Development in Babylon, in addition to activating the role of Youth who represent an essential tool in the whole process, whereas Industrial Localization is deemed an essential issue.
The Symposium, however, has included five lectures being administered by Prof Dr. Muhsin Abid Ali Al-Fraiji. Details of the five lectures shall be given below:
1. Lecture 1: Industrial Development in Iraq, delivered by Mr. Aziz, Director General of Industrial Development
2. Lecture 2: Role of Iraqi Union of Industries in the Localization Process of Private Sector Industries, delivered by Mr. Thamir Nayif, an Expert at the Union of Iraqi Industries
3. Lecture 3: Spatial Planning of Industrial Projects as per National Development Plans, delivered by Mr. Ammar Abdul Adheem, Head of Local Planning Department / Ministry of Planning
4. Lecture 4: Localization of Industries at National & Local Levels, delivered by Prof Dr. Abdul Zahra Al-Janabi, University of Babylon
5. Role of High Way No. 1 in the Localization of Industrial Activities in Babylon Governorate, delivered by Mr. Khalid Kadhim Al-Salihi, Manager of Babylon Planning
At the end of the Symposium, the Lecturers have been honored by Prof Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University.
