Under the Guardianship of Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, College of Engineering & Technology, and in Cooperation with the “Scientific Society for Energy Studies and Research”, has organized a Scientific Workshop, where Dr. Salah Hassan Kadhim Al-Ansari, Chief Executive Officer of Spatech Engineering Company, which is Specialized in the implementation of Engineering Projects & Academic Services has been hosted to deliver a Lecture entitled

“Use of Underground Energy for Cooling & Heating Buildings”
It is remarkable to note that the Workshop has been attended by Assist Prof. Dr. Azher M. Abid, Dean of Engineering & Technology College, accompanied by Heads of Engineering Departments, and Dr. Talal Abdul Aziz Edan, head of Higher Studies Committee at the Ministry of Oil, in addition to Dr. Ali Hamza, Director of Babylon Gas Filling Company, and a number of the University Academics.
We are obliged to note as well that the Workshop has been administered by Assist Prof. Dr. Esam Kamil Salih, referring to the University’s Concern of Renewable Energies and the Scientific Activities being carried out in this regard.
The Lecture has started with a direct contact through the Internet with one of the Spanish Engineers who talked about the Projects implemented by the Company through the use of Underground Energy, clarifying that these Projects do range from a simple house to a hotel and a tower, reviewing meanwhile, equipment types produced by the company and used at its work.
In his Lecture, Dr. Salah Al-Ansari has attempted to give a description to the Concept of Underground Energy, its features and types of systems used, such as Vertical & Horizontal Exchange Systems and the essential role played by Heat Pump in the system as well as Characteristics of Thermal Energy Carrier Fluid and the Cement utilized to install the Pipeline Network.
All inquiries raised by attendees have been fully replied, appreciating the Lecture Topic that has been quite useful and interesting. After that, The Lecturer, Dr. Hassan Kadhim Al-Ansari has been honored with a Letter of Appreciation and University Shield by Assist Prof Dr. Azher M. Abid, Dean of Engineering College.
After the Workshop, a deliberative meeting has been convened with Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi. President of Al-Mustaqbal University, to discuss Cooperation prospects between the University and the aforementioned Company, with the possibility of its contribution to implement a number of Renewable Energy Projects at the University.
