In implementation to the Directives of Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, Dean of Al-Mustaqbal University College, and part of the Scientific Cooperation with the University of Technology / Baghdad, Efforts have been exerted by a Joint Team of Al-Mustaqbal University College and University of Technology in order to find Scientific & Practical Solutions to the Production of Electromagnetic Detector and Gas Sensor for Environmental Applications at high temperatures through the use of Laser Ablation. Accordingly, the Iraqi Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control at the Ministry of Planning has granted two Patent Certificates to Assist. Prof. Dr. Furat Hamza Abid Kadhim, Head of Medical Physics Department.
It is remarkable to note that the whole process has been implemented in cooperation with Academics from the University of Technology, and they are
1. Prof. Dr. Makram Fakhry Abdul Muttalib;
2. Prof. Dr. Evan Tariq Salem;
3. Prof. Dr. Ali Abdul Khaliq; and
4. Researcher Mr. Husam Al-Din Adnan
It is noteworthy that the First Patent has been on “Design of a Gas Sensor for Applications at High Temperature Environment, Using Laser Ablation”
As for the Second Patent, it has been on “Designing an Electromagnetic Detector for Applications at High Temperature Environment, within Ultraviolet Wavelengths, Using Laser Ablation.
