Part of the College Strategic Program to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals, specifically, SDG 7: Ensure Access to Affordable, Reliable, Sustainable & Modern Energy for all, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure, and SDG 12: Responsible Consumption & Production, and under the Guardianship of Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, Dean of Al-Mustaqbal University College, with the Supervision of Assist Prof. Dr. Azher M. Abid, Head of Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineering Department, an Electric Bike has been manufactured by Eng. Ms. Raihana Mohsen Ejam with the Third Year Students Muhammad Hamza and Muhammad Salam.
It is Considerable to note that this bike converts kinetic energy into electrical through the bike's pedals that are linked to an electric generator to charge the batteries installed at the back.
However, the idea behind manufacturing the Electric Bike is to help old people who cannot drive bicycles for a long time as this bike can easily be converted from manual into automatic driving by consuming the energy of the batteries that have been charged during the manual driving, and thus electricity shall be saved as well. Besides this Electric Bike can be considered an appropriate alternative to motorbikes, which do pollute air with the emitted toxic gases.
