We would like to announce that Dr. Waleed Khalid Abdul Hadi, the Rapporteur of Physical Education & Sports Sciences Department, in addition to being a Swimming Coach at Hilla Sports Club, has obtained a patent from the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control for designing a new mechanical device that can be used in teaching and training swimming.
It is considerable to note that this device can be utilized by swimming learners to practice on a set of exercises outside water. These exercises indeed represent situations similar to the actual movements made by a swimmer inside water as per the various methods of Olympic Swimming.
Besides, the device can be used in educational modes with beginners as well as young age groups. It can be utilized as well in training situations by players through the use of special resistances that the device is equipped with. Such exercises aim to develop certain muscles that swimmers do highly need.
Dr. Waleed has clarified that the device is available for researchers, whether inside or outside the College, to apply it for any type of research or study, in addition to those who work in the Sports Fields.
