Under the supervision of Vice President of Babylon University, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mansour Al-Khafaji, College of Sciences at University of Babylon and Al-Mustaqbal University College have determined to activate the Scientific & Cultural Agreement that has been previously concluded between the two parties. During the meeting held between Dr. Fa’iz Ali Rashid, Dean of College of Sciences & Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, Dean of Al-Mustaqbal University College, all possible means of activating the Memorandum of Understanding, concluded between the two Colleges has been raised and widely discussed. This memorandum has stipulated the scientific and cultural cooperation in the fields of teaching, training, exchanging visits, in addition to reinforcing joint research and actively participating in the local as well as the regional conferences and symposiums.

Under the guardianship of Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, Dean of Al-Mustaqbal University College, and in line with the College policy towards a Sustainable University, the First Scientific Forum was convened on Saturday 28th May 2022, at 09:30 a.m., under the title “Water Sustainability & Climate Changes”
The Forum has included the discussion of three main topics:
The first topic concerns “Climate Changes” in view of the outcomes of Glasgow Conference, and it has been submitted by Prof. Dr. Ali Abul-Zahra Al-Lami, Expert & Advisor for Environment & Climate Changes Affairs, Board of Advisors at the Prime Ministry Cabinet.
The second topic regards the “Preventive Water Policy”, delivered by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Sabri Ibrahim, Senior Political Advisor at the Ministry of Water Resources.
The third topic focuses on the “Iraqi Water Security” in a Study of the Middle & Lower Euphrates Basin, and it has been delivered by Prof. Dr. Kadhim Musa Muhammad Al-Taei, Former Dean of the College of Basic Education, University of Mosul.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, Dean of Al-Mustaqbal University College has focused on the world experiences in the field of water challenges and climate changes and how to be applied on the Iraqi Phenomenon.
The Forum topics have witnessed outstanding interactions & discussions conducted by the participators. It is remarkable to note that a number of local and academic personalities have attended the Forum, most notably, Mr. Khalid Al-Salihi, Head of Babylon Planning, Mr. Makki Hadi Al-Shimmeri, General Director of Babylon Environment, and Mr. Hassan Al-Birmani, Deputy of Babylon Governor for Agriculture & Water Affairs, in addition to an academic delegation representing some Iraqi Universities.
It should be noted as well that the Forum has been under the administration of Assist Prof Dr. Munthir Fadhil Hassan, MUC Deputy Dean for Administrative Affairs.
At the end of the Forum, a number of recommendations and suggestions have been determined so as to be submitted to the related Ministries & Directorates for the purpose of achieving the Forum Goals.
