As part of the activities of the Fourth Al-Mustaqbal International Sustainability Week 2026, Al-Mustaqbal University launched the “Sustainability March” in the presence of the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, with the active participation of university staff and students, known as the “Future Sustainability Ambassadors.” The event reflected the university’s strong institutional commitment to fostering a culture of sustainability and promoting responsible environmental practices. At the beginning of the event, the University President praised the remarkable participation of students and staff, emphasizing that their enthusiastic involvement demonstrates a high level of environmental awareness and institutional belonging. He noted that this engagement reflects the university’s success in embedding sustainability as both a practical approach and a daily practice within and beyond the campus. He further stressed that such initiatives play a fundamental role in preparing a conscious generation capable of leading positive change toward a more balanced and sustainable future. For his part, the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Professor Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, stated that the “Sustainability March” represents a practical implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and serves as a genuine reflection of the path the university has pursued since 2019 in its transformation into a sustainable institution. He also highlighted the vital role of students in spreading the culture of sustainability, enhancing environmental awareness, and transferring these practices to the wider community. The march included several educational stops where participants learned about the university’s key sustainability initiatives, including the expansion of green spaces, the preservation of biodiversity, the adoption of clean energy, the implementation of hydroponic and tissue culture farming technologies, as well as waste recycling and treatment programs, the use of modern irrigation systems, and the promotion of green transportation practices across the campus. These initiatives collectively contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. This initiative forms part of a series of pioneering activities organized by Al-Mustaqbal University, reaffirming its leadership in supporting sustainable development pathways and strengthening community partnerships in line with global efforts to build an innovative and environmentally friendly educational environment
