Under the directives of the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Engineering Technologies, and under the direct supervision of the Head of the Department of Prosthetics and Orthetics Engineering, the Department of Prosthetics and Orthetics Engineering at al-Mustaqbal University participated in the central celebration organized by the Directorate of Operations and Emergency Medical Services at the Ministry of Health, on the occasion of the International Day of Prosthetics and Medical Rehabilitation. The ceremony was held under the patronage of the Minister of Health at the Directorate's Theater Hall in the capital, Baghdad.<br /><br />The department was represented at this ceremony by Assist.Lect. Muntadhar Saleh Mahdi, who presented a scientific research that is the first of its kind in the world, where he addressed the topic of "bone fusion" for amputees above the knee, allowing them to obtain the advantages and characteristics of knee amputees. The research won the admiration and appreciation of specialists in prosthetics, including engineers and technicians from different parts of Iraq, who attended the event, along with the cadres of the Limb Engineering Department from the universities of Al-Nahrain and Karbala, and the Department of Limb Techniques at the University of Erbil.<br /><br />This participation comes within the framework of al-Mustaqbal University's keenness to support innovative research and enhance cooperation with health institutions, in a way that contributes to the development of the prosthetics sector in Iraq, and raising the level of medical rehabilitation services, to achieve a better future for people who rely on these technologies.
