As part of its commitment to enhancing students' technical and practical skills, the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering at the College of Engineering, Al-Mustaqbal University, organized a specialized workshop for third-year students entitled "Fundamentals of Personal Computer Use and Engineering Software Download and Installation." The workshop was organized by the Head of the Department, Asst. Prof. Dr. Firas Thaer Raouf, in the presence of the Department Rapporteur, Assistant Lecturer Muntadhar Saleh Mahdi, and the third-year Computer Applications instructor, Assistant Lecturer Abdullah Qais Hashim. The workshop aimed to develop students' proficiency in using personal computers, introduce essential concepts related to operating systems and file management, and explain the fundamental procedures for downloading, installing, and configuring engineering software. It also emphasized the importance of checking system requirements and obtaining software from reliable sources. Furthermore, the workshop highlighted the significance of computer literacy and digital competencies in engineering education, particularly in prosthetics and orthotics engineering, where computer-aided design, digital modeling, and engineering applications play an increasingly important role in developing innovative technical solutions. This initiative reflects the department's ongoing efforts to strengthen practical education, enhance students' digital skills, and bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and engineering applications, preparing future engineers to meet evolving technological challenges and labor market demands. The workshop also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), by promoting practical learning and developing the technical competencies essential for academic and professional success.
