As part of its social responsibility and commitment to spreading safety awareness, the Department of Fuel and Energy Engineering Technologies at the Technical Engineering College, Al-Mustaqbal University, launched a comprehensive awareness campaign entitled "Safety with Gas and Fuel" on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Shahad Mahmood Mohammed and with active student participation. The campaign aims to promote safe practices for handling Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders and generator fuel, while raising awareness about the hazards associated with household generators—particularly the severe dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning and methods for prevention. Extending its impact beyond campus borders, department students conducted field visits in the local community to deliver safety guidelines and collect survey data to evaluate public awareness levels regarding fuel safety and risk prevention. This initiative serves as a practical contribution toward Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by fostering public safety and reducing household hazards, Goal 4 (Quality Education) by sharing academic and applied knowledge for community benefit, and Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) by promoting safe and resilient community practices. This effort highlights the department and university's commitment to encouraging community-driven student engagement, ensuring future engineers contribute directly to public welfare and safety.
