To support the personal and professional development of students and guide them toward achieving their academic goals, the Department of Fuel and Energy Engineering Technologies organized an awareness workshop entitled "Your Academic Identity: How to Cultivate Professional Conduct and Overcome Distractions to Achieve Your Ambitions" on October 20, 2026, presented by faculty member Shahad Mahmood Mohammed for the department's students.
The workshop highlighted the concept of "Academic Identity" and its pivotal role in shaping a successful engineering personality. The primary objectives centered on instilling professional behavior and academic ethics on and off campus, providing practical strategies to eliminate digital and daily distractions, and promoting effective time management skills to transform academic goals into tangible accomplishments.
This initiative serves as a practical contribution toward Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by empowering students and elevating their personal and intellectual skills within a high-quality educational environment, as well as Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by building well-rounded engineering graduates equipped with soft skills for the modern workforce.
The workshop witnessed active participation and high engagement from attending students, who contributed to the discussions and commended the relevance of the topics covered in supporting their academic journey.
This effort highlights the department and university's commitment to delivering holistic educational guidance, raising digitally conscious and academically empowered future engineers.
