The Department of Media at the College of Arts and Humanities, Al-Mustaqbal University, held a specialised awareness seminar entitled “The Dangers of Keeping Bad Company” on the morning of Saturday, 24 October 2026, in the department’s lecture halls in the Humanities Building. The seminar was part of the department’s annual programme of awareness-raising and educational activities aimed at strengthening students’ moral and educational awareness. The seminar was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr Hamza Ubeis Abdul-Sadah and Assistant Lecturer Hamed Shakir Karim, members of the Department of Media’s teaching staff. The session examined the profound negative effects of bad company and its harmful consequences for individuals’ behaviour and moral values. It also addressed how negative peer influences can lead to unhealthy habits, wasted time, and exposure to serious risks that adversely affect students’ academic lives and professional futures. The seminar aimed to guide students on the importance of choosing their friends carefully, strengthening moral values and positive behaviours, and highlighting the role of good company in developing a well-balanced personality capable of making sound decisions.
