The Department of Media at the College of Arts and Humanities at Al-Mustaqbal University organised a scientific seminar entitled “The Role of Media in Enhancing Public Awareness of Climate Change” on the morning of Monday, 19 October 2026. The seminar was held in the department’s classrooms in the Humanities Building, with the participation of a number of lecturers and students. The seminar was presented by Assistant Lecturer Musaddaq Al-Amir Kareem and Assistant Lecturer Maryam Abdul-Kareem Sahib. It explored the strategic role of media in raising public awareness of climate change and highlighted its environmental and social impacts. The speakers also discussed the importance of using media outlets and digital platforms to deliver reliable environmental information to the public and promote positive behaviours that support the protection of the local environment. The seminar aimed to strengthen environmental awareness among students and emphasise the importance of media as an effective means of disseminating knowledge about climate-related issues and encouraging social responsibility in addressing contemporary environmental challenges. This event forms part of the scientific and awareness-raising activities organised by the Department of Media at Al-Mustaqbal University to foster awareness of environmental issues and strengthen the role of media in serving society and advancing sustainable development.
