The Department of Media at the College of Arts and Humanities at Al-Mustaqbal University organised a specialised awareness seminar entitled “Psychological Warfare and Its Role in Resolving Conflicts” on Tuesday, 13 October 2026. The seminar was attended by teaching staff and students and aimed to enhance awareness of communication theories and mechanisms for shaping public understanding. The lecture was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Sabah Abbas Khalaf from the Department of Media, who explained the precise scientific concept of psychological warfare, its strategic objectives, and its pivotal role in determining the outcomes of contemporary international conflicts and disputes. He also discussed ways to strengthen societies’ resilience against targeted messages disseminated through various communication channels. Assistant Lecturer Hamed Shakir Karim, a member of the department’s teaching staff, contributed further commentary on the topics discussed. He addressed the systematic analysis of psychological warfare and the distinction between its concepts and those of media propaganda, clarifying the fundamental differences in the tools employed and the objectives pursued by each within the media landscape.
