The Department of Media at the College of Arts and Humanities at Al-Mustaqbal University, under the auspices of the Continuing Education Centre, organised a comprehensive introductory and practical lecture on the Student Information System (SIS) on Monday, 12 October 2026. The lecture aimed to enhance students’ and lecturers’ understanding of how to use the system and clarify its role in organising academic procedures and facilitating the monitoring of educational affairs. The event was held in line with the university’s plans to develop its services and achieve comprehensive digital transformation.
The lecture was delivered by Lecturer Dr Munther Ali Ahmed, the SIS Programme Coordinator in the Department of Media, and Assistant Lecturer Hamed Al-Shujairi, the department’s rapporteur. They provided a detailed explanation of the system’s core functions and practical applications, covering academic registration procedures, course allocation, monitoring students’ academic progress, entering grades and examination results, and explaining the requirements for promoting successful students to the next academic stage. They also addressed the handling of failed and supplementary-examination cases, as well as electronic attendance and absence recording, timetable monitoring, and classroom allocation.
Regarding electronic services, the lecturers demonstrated how to submit and track requests and explained the authority granted to teaching staff to document data. They also discussed common errors and ways to resolve them to ensure the system is used correctly. The session witnessed active participation and extensive discussion, with the lecturers answering students’ and faculty members’ questions and enquiries. This contributed to strengthening users’ ability to operate the system more efficiently and support the advancement of sustainable digital education across the university campus.
