Throughout history, the values of neighborliness and social solidarity have been vital to societal cohesion; neighbors would exchange assistance, share in life’s occasions, and stand by one another during difficult times. However, shifting lifestyles, the fast pace of work, and the rise of digital communication have contributed to a decline in certain forms of direct human interaction. It is now possible for an individual to live for years next to people they barely know, even while modern technology enables them to connect with others thousands of kilometers away. Yet, this does not mean that neighborly values have become a thing of the past; rather, their forms evolve alongside society. Assisting during crises, caring for the elderly, respecting neighbors' privacy, exchanging support, and participating in local initiatives are all modern expressions of social solidarity. Preserving these values does not require a return to outdated lifestyles, but rather finding a balance between individual privacy and a sense of community. No matter how advanced technology becomes, it cannot fully replace the presence of a nearby person who offers timely help and care. Thus, good neighborliness and solidarity remain essential elements in building a society where individuals feel secure, a sense of belonging, and a shared responsibility toward one another.
