Under the patronage of the President of Future University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Agricultural Technologies, Prof. Dr. Mahdi Abdul-Kadhim, with the active participation of the Sustainability Officer, Mr. Khalid Al-Salihi, the Department of Medicinal Plants at the College of Agricultural Technologies, Future University, organized a specialized scientific workshop entitled “Artificial Seeds and Their Applications.” The workshop was presented by the Head of the Department of Medicinal Plants, Prof. Dr. Majeed Kadhim Abbas.
The workshop witnessed broad participation from faculty members, researchers, and students. It addressed the latest biotechnological techniques in the fields of plant tissue culture and artificial seed production, highlighting their important role in preserving the genetic resources of medicinal and rare plants. It also explored practical applications of this technology in plant propagation and the development of agricultural production.
The workshop featured fruitful scientific discussions and interactive contributions from the participants, focusing on the prospects of applying modern technologies in the agricultural sector. These discussions aimed to support scientific research, promote innovation, and address the needs and challenges of the agricultural sector in Iraq.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the participants emphasized the importance of continuing to organize high-quality scientific events of this kind, given their significant role in developing the skills of students and researchers, enhancing scientific and practical knowledge, and supporting the university’s efforts to keep pace with the latest global scientific and technological developments in the agricultural field.
