The Department of Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Industries organized a specialized scientific workshop titled “Types of Drilling in Oil Fields,” presented by Assistant Instructor Nour al-Din Saad Abis, as part of scientific activities aimed at enhancing students’ applied knowledge. The workshop covered the most prominent types and techniques of drilling used in oil fields, highlighting drilling mechanisms and their implementation stages, as well as the factors influencing the selection of the appropriate technique based on the nature of geological formations and the operational conditions of the wells. The workshop also featured a discussion of a range of scientific and practical topics related to oil well drilling operations, thereby helping to broaden students’ understanding and link academic knowledge to practical applications in the oil sector.
