Al-Mustaqbal University has achieved a significant new global academic and environmental milestone by ranking first among private universities and colleges in Iraq and securing the 148th position worldwide in the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking for sustainability (2026). This achievement reflects the university's unwavering commitment to sustainability principles and its transition toward a more efficient and innovative campus. The university scored 8,475 points, placing it third among all Iraqi universities—both public and private—and 82nd in Asia, amidst a vast global competition involving 2,016 universities from 110 countries. This progress stems from the university's efforts to implement high-quality sustainability programs and initiatives covering areas such as campus setting and infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste management, water resources, sustainable transportation, education and scientific research, as well as governance and digital transformation. The achievement reflects Al-Mustaqbal University's drive to embed sustainability as an integral institutional practice and to strengthen its presence in global rankings. This reinforces its academic standing and advances its role in building a sustainable university model that aligns with international standards.
