Al-Mustaqbal University held a virtual meeting with representatives of the Iraqi Cultural Attaché in the United States and the OHLA Institute, a strategic global partner for TOEFL/ETS examinations, to explore prospects for cooperation in developing the linguistic and academic skills of students and graduates and preparing specialised training programmes that respond to their educational and professional needs. The meeting was attended by the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi. The meeting was attended by the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision at Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi; representative of the Iraqi Cultural Attaché, Dr. Hussein Al-Sheikh; Dr. Alaa Shakir; representatives of the OHLA Institute, Jenny Nevin, Mahsa Tavakoli, and Karen Ghahramaniants; as well as Director of the Continuing Education Centre, Prof. Dr. Wael Al-Nadawi, along with members of the Centre and the University Presidency, Tabarak Hassan, Ali Jasim, and Ilaf Al-Khafaji. During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi affirmed that this cooperation aims to equip students and graduates with English language skills that enhance their academic and professional opportunities. He noted that the training programmes would be designed according to participants’ needs and offered through diverse pathways, ranging from preparation for TOEFL examinations and developing communication skills for business purposes to preparing students who wish to pursue their studies at foreign universities. The participants also discussed mechanisms for joint coordination between Al-Mustaqbal University and the international institute, enabling the provision of specialised and flexible training programmes tailored to participants’ proficiency levels and objectives. They also explored ways to benefit from international expertise in developing English language skills in accordance with internationally recognised standards, in line with the University’s vision of providing high-quality education that responds to the requirements of the future and the labour market.
