Dr. Mayada Waheed, Head of the Department of Building and Construction at the College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies, University of Al-Mustaqbal, participated in the discussion of a Master’s thesis at the University of Karbala, entitled: “Experimental and Analytical Study of Torsion for Reinforced Concrete Beam Strengthened with Externally Bonded FRB System.” The thesis focused on investigating the structural behavior of reinforced concrete beams subjected to torsional moments and evaluating the effectiveness of using an externally bonded FRB system to strengthen the beams and improve their resistance to applied loads while reducing deformations and cracking. Dr. Mayada Waheed’s participation in the thesis defense reflects the academic and scientific presence of the University of Al-Mustaqbal’s faculty members in scientific and academic forums. It also contributes to strengthening scientific communication and cooperation among Iraqi universities and promoting the exchange of academic expertise in the field of structural engineering and strengthening and rehabilitation techniques for concrete structures. At the conclusion of the defense, the scientific efforts made in preparing the thesis were highly appreciated, with best wishes to the researcher for continued success in her academic and scientific career.
