Al-Mustaqbal University continues its active presence in international academic forums by participating in the 36th Annual Conference and Exhibition of the European Association for International Education (EAIE 2026). Hosted in Glasgow, United Kingdom, from September 8 to 11, 2026, the event draws a wide range of universities and educational institutions from around the globe under the theme "The Rhythm of Revolution."
University President Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi represented Al-Mustaqbal University at this prestigious international event. The university participated as one of the Iraqi academic institutions present at this prominent European forum for international education—specifically at the FEDE pavilion (Booth F29)—where it showcased its academic and research experience, as well as its vision for advancing higher education and fostering openness to global practices.
The university’s pavilion highlighted 55 academic and educational programs alongside its capabilities in academic and research fields. It presented a comprehensive overview of the university—based in Babylon, Iraq—while simultaneously showcasing aspects of Iraq's rich cultural heritage. This served as a message embodying the integration of Iraq's authentic civilization with the renaissance of contemporary academic education.
The university’s participation took place alongside an elite group of global universities and educational institutions from various countries—including France, Germany, Canada, Ireland, Italy, and Switzerland—as part of its ongoing efforts to expand its international network and open new horizons for academic and scientific cooperation and student exchange. Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, emphasized that participation in international academic forums aims to build sustainable institutional partnerships. These partnerships translate into joint academic programs, research projects, and tangible educational opportunities for students and researchers, thereby enhancing the university's global presence.
As part of its participation in the conference and exhibition, Al-Mustaqbal University signed several bilateral agreements and memoranda of understanding with participating universities and academic institutions. These agreements aim to develop joint programs, foster academic and research exchange, expand international cooperation, and leverage the latest global trends and strategies in the internationalization of higher education.
This participation aligns with Al-Mustaqbal University’s vision to solidify its standing in global academic forums, expand international partnerships, and enhance opportunities for its students and academic and research staff. It reflects the university's commitment to creating an educational environment that is open to the world and capable of keeping pace with the rapid transformations in international higher education.
