Al-Mustaqbal University has achieved a new milestone in academic digital presence, securing fourth place in Iraq—ranking first among the country's private universities—and 169th regionally within the EduIndex.ai ranking for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, according to the July 2026 edition. EduIndex.ai is a modern index that tracks the presence of university institutions within the generative AI ecosystem—including widely used platforms like ChatGPT and Gemini—reflecting the rapid shifts in how users search for and discover universities and academic information. Al-Mustaqbal University demonstrated strong performance across several key criteria, scoring 60 points in "LLM Readiness," 41 points in "Perceptions," and 78.3 points in "Traffic," resulting in an overall EduIndex score of 55.3 points. With this performance, Al-Mustaqbal University ranked among the top ten Iraqi universities, surpassing more than 80 public and private institutions included in the list, thereby further strengthening its position in the academic and digital landscape at both local and regional levels. This progress reflects the evolving search behavior of students, as an increasing number of searches for universities and academic programs shift from traditional search engines to generative AI platforms. In this context, the EduIndex.ai index emerges as a modern tool for measuring the presence, visibility, and perception of educational institutions within artificial intelligence models.
