Al-Mustaqbal University, under the patronage of its President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, commemorated the International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies through an awareness-raising event held in the University’s gardens. The event was attended by the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Professor Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, along with a number of department and division directors, university personnel, and students. The event was organized by the Sustainability Division at the University Presidency with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of air quality and highlighting the risks of air pollution and its impact on human health and the environment. In his address, Professor Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi emphasized the importance of using international observances to raise awareness of climate challenges, noting that the Al-Mustaqbal Energy Research Center monitors pollutants through a specialized station that provides scientific data serving researchers and postgraduate students. For his part, the Head of the Sustainability Division, Engineer Khalid Kadhim Al-Salihi, explained that the University is working to reduce air pollution through a range of initiatives, including expanding green spaces, promoting green transportation, improving waste management, and implementing awareness programs targeting students and university personnel to strengthen environmental responsibility. This event is part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s efforts to establish a culture of sustainability, strengthen the University’s role in addressing climate challenges, and transform environmental awareness into practical practices that contribute to building a healthy university environment and supporting the Sustainable Development Goals.
