Al-Mustaqbal University, under the patronage of its President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, commemorated World Charity Day, observed annually on September 5, by organizing a scientific workshop aimed at promoting a culture of giving, volunteering, and social responsibility, while highlighting the role of academic institutions in supporting humanitarian initiatives and serving the community. The workshop was attended by the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Professor Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, along with several college deans, department and unit directors, and university personnel. The event commenced with an address from the University Presidency, delivered by Professor Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi on behalf of the University President, emphasizing the importance of fostering a culture of volunteering and initiative in a manner that reflects the University’s mission of building and empowering individuals. The program included a presentation delivered by the Director of the Sustainable Development Division, Mr. Khalid Kadhim Al-Salihi, addressing charitable work as a form of human solidarity and its role in strengthening social cohesion and empowering young people. The presentation emphasized the importance of moving beyond immediate assistance toward more organized, sustainable, and impactful initiatives. It also highlighted Al-Mustaqbal University’s efforts to harness education, knowledge, and scientific research in service of the community and encourage students and university personnel to participate in volunteer initiatives. The activities concluded with an emphasis on the University’s continued commitment to strengthening social responsibility, promoting the values of giving and solidarity, and transforming humanitarian occasions into genuine opportunities to launch initiatives and build effective partnerships that contribute to serving the community and supporting the Sustainable Development Goals.
