AL_Mustaqbal University participated with an official delegation in the 12th UI GreenMetric International Workshop for Sustainable Universities (IWGM 2026), hosted by the Birkenfeld Eco-Campus of Trier University of Applied Sciences in Germany, from August 24–26, 2026. The workshop brought together leading academics, experts, and specialists in the field of sustainability from around the world. The university delegation included the President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Magdy, and the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Shaker Magdy. This participation reflects the university's commitment to strengthening its international academic presence and exchanging expertise in the areas of university sustainability, energy and water, resource and waste management, sustainable transportation, and education and scientific research. The participation included a meeting between the Future University delegation and Dr. Vishnu Juwono, President of UI GreenMetric. During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise in the field of sustainability. The university's experience and initiatives in developing a sustainable campus were also reviewed, and the university presented UI GreenMetric with a plaque in recognition of its efforts in supporting sustainability practices in higher education institutions globally. The participation also included the presentation of plaques of appreciation to Professor Dr. Dorit Schumann, President of Trier University of Applied Sciences, and Professor Dr. Klaus Helling, Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Economics and Law, in recognition of the university's and Birkenfeld Eco-Campus's role in supporting sustainability and promoting international academic cooperation. This participation comes within the framework of AL_Mustaqbal University's strategy to strengthen its presence in international academic forums, benefit from leading global experiences in sustainability, and improve its performance in global sustainability indicators.
