Professor Dr. Akram Faraj Al-Rubaie, Head of the Department of Media at the College of Arts and Humanities at Al-Mustaqbal University, participated in a television report broadcast by Al-Iraqiya News Channel, which shed light on the phenomenon of rumors and their direct impact on society, alongside a distinguished group of security officials and specialized academics. During the report, Professor Dr. Akram Faraj Al-Rubaie discussed the rapid developments affecting the phenomenon of rumors amid the modern technological boom. He explained that rumors have become more dangerous than ever, as traditional rumors are now supported by advanced software, making them more convincing and allowing them to spread among audiences more rapidly and exert a greater impact. The Head of the Department of Media stressed the need to employ modern technology to counter and limit the spread of such rumors by utilizing information-detection technologies, alongside digital mechanisms for addressing deepfake technologies, which have emerged as one of the most significant security and media challenges facing the contemporary communication landscape.
