Al-Mustaqbal University continues to make tangible progress towards the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), commonly known as the Shanghai Ranking, one of the most challenging and rigorous university rankings worldwide, reflecting its commitment to international academic standards.
The university has developed a clear and targeted plan aimed at entering this global ranking during 2027 and 2028, under the direction of the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majid, in cooperation with the Academic Supervisor, Prof. Dr. Mudhafar Al-Zuhairi, the Director of Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Tariq Al-Mousawi, and with the support of Consultant Dr. Amer Al-Amir.
The indicators announced today show that the university is on the right track and continues its upward trajectory. It has been placed within the 87th list — with each list containing 30 institutions — ranking 18th within that list, equivalent to 2,598th globally among the universities included in the evaluation. This represents significant and clear progress compared with the university’s first participation in the overall evaluation last year, when its position was beyond the 3,000th rank.
It is worth noting that the ranking organizers officially publish only the top 1,000 universities. However, they provide other institutions with their evaluation results so that they can identify their actual position and track their progress, as the ranking is based on gradual advancement to ensure academic rigor.
