Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdy, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, met with Dr. Richard Sanderson, Country Director of the British Council in Iraq, to discuss the launch and implementation of a range of joint international academic cooperation initiatives. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the UK–Iraq Academic Bridge initiative, hosted by Al-Mustaqbal University to promote collaboration between Iraqi and British universities. The meeting, attended by Prof. Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision at Al-Mustaqbal University, featured in-depth discussions on mechanisms for implementing the British Council’s development initiative and formulating its execution plans in full alignment with the University’s strategic vision for the internationalization of higher education, enhancement of academic quality, and advancement of distinguished academic programs. The bilateral discussions focused on expanding partnerships between Al-Mustaqbal University and higher education institutions in the United Kingdom, promoting academic and cultural exchange programs, and establishing direct communication channels with British universities. The meeting also explored the development and enhancement of the University’s English language centers in accordance with internationally recognized standards and accreditation frameworks supported by the British Council, with the aim of strengthening the linguistic and research capabilities of both faculty members and students. During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdy presented a commemorative shield to Dr. Richard Sanderson in appreciation of the British Council’s continued support for higher education initiatives. The ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi.
