Al-Mustaqbal University Leads Iraq in THE Impact Rankings 2026, Reinforcing Its Leadership in Sustainable Development

In a significant achievement that reflects its institutional commitment to sustainability and global excellence, Al-Mustaqbal University ranked first among all Iraqi public and private universities in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2026. The university was placed within the 201–300 global category among 1,603 participating universities, demonstrating its growing international reputation and its effective contribution to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The ranking recognized the university’s outstanding performance in several key development goals, where it achieved first place nationally in No Poverty (SDG 1), Affordable and Clean Energy (SDG 7), Climate Action (SDG 13), and Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions (SDG 16). It also ranked second nationally in Quality Education (SDG 4). Speaking on the occasion, University President Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdy praised the efforts of faculty members, researchers, staff, and students, noting that the achievement is the result of a long-term strategic commitment to sustainability, innovation, and community impact. He added that Al-Mustaqbal University will continue to strengthen its global presence and expand its role as a leading institution dedicated to creating positive social, economic, and environmental impact through education, research, and community service.
