The President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, announced a new global academic achievement, with the university ranking first among all Iraqi private universities and securing third place among Iraqi public and private universities in the U.S. News & World Report – Best Global Universities 2026–2027 ranking. This confirms its advanced position among leading academic institutions locally and internationally.
The ranking results, which are considered among the most prominent global systems for evaluating educational institutions, included only eight Iraqi universities in its latest edition. The University of Sulaimani ranked first nationally, followed by the University of Baghdad in second place, while Al-Mustaqbal University ranked third overall, leading all private universities. Regionally, the university achieved a position of 568 in Asia.
The university also recorded strong performance across multiple scientific disciplines according to global indicators. It ranked 632 globally in Physical Chemistry, 666 in Engineering, 696 in Materials Science, and 771 in Chemistry. These rankings are based on precise academic and research performance metrics derived from the Clarivate Analytics database.
