As part of its strategic vision to strengthen international collaboration and advance its educational and research environment in line with global standards, Al-Mustaqbal University has established an academic and research partnership with the School of Pharmacy at the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom. This milestone represents a significant step in the University's efforts to build sustainable and impactful international partnerships.
The agreement was concluded during an official visit to the United Kingdom by the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, accompanied by the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Ahmed Al-Dhalimi, and the Iraqi Cultural Attaché in the United Kingdom, Professor Dr. Qusai Al-Ahmadi. During the visit, a series of meetings were held with senior officials and academic representatives from the University of Nottingham and its School of Pharmacy.
Discussions focused on exploring opportunities for collaboration in pharmaceutical education, scientific research, and innovation, as well as developing joint academic initiatives, enhancing knowledge exchange, and creating broader opportunities for researchers and students to benefit from the scientific capabilities and expertise of both institutions.
This partnership is particularly significant given the University of Nottingham’s distinguished international reputation, especially in the field of pharmacy, in addition to its advanced research infrastructure and strong links with the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. The collaboration also aligns with Al-Mustaqbal University’s vision of promoting academic excellence and strengthening its presence within the global higher education landscape.
The visit culminated in the formal signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), establishing a framework for cooperation in research activities, faculty and researcher exchange, joint scientific events, and academic and training opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate students in pharmaceutical sciences and biotechnology.
