Al-Mustaqbal University continues to achieve notable growth in its indicators of rigorous scientific publishing within international databases, as the latest updates show the indexing of approximately 27 new research papers during the last week of May 2026. This reflects the continuous increase in the research output of its scholars and the growing presence of the university in reputable international journals, alongside a significant rise in publications in Open Access journals to enhance citation opportunities and the global research impact of the university. The research efforts during this period have focused on strategic disciplines, including artificial intelligence applications, renewable energy, materials engineering, environmental sustainability, and medical applications serving society. The University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, emphasized the importance of directing efforts toward applied research that can be invested in the knowledge economy, in line with the university’s vision as one of the pioneering Iraqi institutions adopting the concept of the “productive university” and fourth-generation universities, linking education with innovation, entrepreneurship, and labor market needs. This orientation has been further strengthened by the university’s recent announcement of the establishment of the “Future Council for University Artificial Intelligence” as an advanced platform for leading digital transformation and activating the innovation ecosystem. This includes supporting science parks, business incubators and accelerators, and technology transfer projects aimed at transforming research outputs into investable products. Through these initiatives, Al-Mustaqbal University continues to consolidate its leading position, supported by an advanced research environment and an extensive international collaboration network that contributes to achieving sustainable development goals, particularly Goal 9 related to industry, innovation, and infrastructure in service of societal sectors.
