The Head of the Scientific Outputs Marketing Division at Al-Mustaqbal University, Engineer Khalid Kadhim Al-Salihi, conducted an official visit to the Babil Governorate Office in implementation of the directives of the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi. The visit reflects the university’s commitment to its social responsibility and developmental role in linking local challenges with academic institutions to develop scientific and practical solutions based on evidence and data.
During the visit, Al-Salihi met with the Deputy Governor for Planning Affairs, the Deputy Governor for Administrative Affairs, the Director of the Directorate of Public Policy and Planning, and a number of specialists to discuss mechanisms for utilizing the scientific and research capabilities of Al-Mustaqbal University in addressing challenges facing key governorate sectors. These sectors include water resources, energy, environment, youth and sports, urban planning, municipal services, roads and bridges, local security, and agriculture. The discussions focused on transforming these challenges into research themes, applied studies, master’s theses, and doctoral dissertations to be undertaken by the university’s researchers and faculty members within their academic projects.
Both parties emphasized the importance of building an effective and sustainable partnership between Al-Mustaqbal University and state institutions to direct scientific research toward addressing real-world issues. Al-Salihi explained that this initiative represents a practical step toward promoting scientific outputs and translating the challenges faced by the governorate in economic, social, service, and environmental sectors into applied research projects and graduation projects that support decision-makers. Such efforts reinforce the concept of a productive and socially impactful university while creating meaningful integration between scientific research and the requirements of sustainable local development in Babil Governorate.
