Al-Mustaqbal University, within the activities of a specialized workshop held in Erbil Governorate on May 27, has received a prestigious international recognition from UNESCO (Iraq Office) and the European Union, with the participation of a elite group of academic institutions and international organizations concerned with sustainable development, aiming to honor its institutional excellence and leadership in the fields of green economy and digital transformation. This recognition came as an exceptional distinction led by the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, and the Dean of the College of Engineering Technologies, Professor Dr. Azhar Muhsen Abd, who both received a high-level certificate of appreciation following the scientific presentations and active participation provided by the university, which reflected its advanced level in supporting sustainability projects and technical innovation. The workshop witnessed widespread presence and praise from representatives of UNESCO and the European Union, who commended the pioneering role played by the university in developing academic initiatives, which contributed to Al-Mustaqbal University standing out as the only academic institution officially invited and honored at this international event, amidst upcoming coordination for a visit to the university to open new horizons for scientific partnership. This recognition aims to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and Goal 13 (Climate Action), by valuing the qualitative efforts and contributions provided by the university to support modern technology pathways.
