The exhibition brought together a remarkable collection of paintings and artistic works that reflected the richness of Mesopotamian heritage through contemporary visual interpretations. The participating artists and students drew inspiration from Sumerian, Babylonian, and Assyrian symbols while employing modern artistic approaches that blended authenticity with innovation, creating a unique artistic dialogue between history and the present. The opening ceremony was attended by several academic and cultural figures, including the President of Mansoura University, Professor Dr. Sherif Khater, and the University Vice President, Professor Dr. Mohamed Attia, in addition to a number of artists, academics, and guests who praised the exhibition’s artistic quality and its role in enriching the Iraqi cultural scene. The College of Fine Arts emphasized that the exhibition reflects the university’s commitment to supporting artistic and cultural activities and encouraging students to express their creative visions through art. The exhibition also aimed to provide an inspiring educational environment that nurtures talent, develops artistic awareness, and strengthens students’ connection to their cultural heritage. Through this initiative, Al-Mustaqbal University continues to reinforce its role as a leading academic institution that believes in the power of art as a universal language capable of promoting cultural dialogue and preserving national identity. The university also seeks to support projects such as the “Iraq International Biennale,” which represents an important platform for presenting Iraq’s rich history and creative spirit to the world through contemporary artistic expression.
