Under the generous patronage and support of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and as part of the university’s vision to support culture, arts, and the promotion of Iraq’s civilizational identity, the College of Fine Arts organized a distinguished art exhibition inspired by the rich heritage of Iraqi civilization. The exhibition was held in support of the “Iraq International Biennale,” one of the most prominent cultural and artistic projects aimed at reinforcing Iraqi cultural identity and fostering openness to Arab and international artistic experiences. The opening ceremony witnessed remarkable academic and cultural attendance, including the participation of the President of Mansoura University, Professor Dr. Sherif Khater, and the University Vice President, Professor Dr. Mohamed Attia, alongside a number of academic, artistic, and cultural figures. The attendees praised the exhibition’s artistic quality and organization, as well as the pioneering role played by Al-Mustaqbal University in supporting Iraq’s cultural and artistic movement. The exhibition featured a collection of paintings and artworks embodying symbols of ancient Iraqi civilization, drawing inspiration from Sumerian, Babylonian, and Assyrian heritage while employing modern artistic techniques and styles that reflected the fusion of the past and present within a contemporary creative vision. The displayed works highlighted the depth of Iraq’s cultural identity and presented innovative artistic interpretations inspired by the authenticity of Iraqi history. The Deanery of the College of Fine Arts affirmed that organizing this exhibition comes within the university’s commitment to supporting cultural and artistic activities and creating a university environment that embraces creativity, contributes to developing students’ artistic awareness and cultural understanding, and enhances their academic and artistic skills while linking art to national and civilizational identity. This event comes as part of a series of cultural and artistic initiatives adopted by Al-Mustaqbal University to reaffirm its leading role in supporting the Iraqi artistic movement and its belief that the arts represent a fundamental pillar in shaping social awareness and strengthening national and cultural identity. The “Iraq International Biennale” also represents a cultural and artistic platform that seeks to present Iraq as a center of civilization and creativity with a rich human heritage through exhibitions and events inspired by the history of Mesopotamia and presented in a contemporary spirit reflecting the development of Iraqi art and the richness of its cultural identity. The exhibition received wide appreciation and positive interaction from attendees, who emphasized the importance of continuing such distinguished initiatives that enhance Iraq’s cultural and civilizational standing and support the “Iraq International Biennale” as a cultural window reflecting Iraq’s bright image to the world, while highlighting the active role of academic institutions in supporting culture, arts, and building a more creative and aware society.
