As part of its awareness activities aimed at providing comprehensive support to students and creating an ideal examination environment, the Biomedical Engineering Department organized a specialized workshop entitled “Psychological Preparation for Exams,” under the direct supervision of Assistant Lecturer Hiba Dhiaa Abdul-Amir, to equip students with the tools for success and academic excellence.
About the Workshop:
The workshop aimed to prepare students psychologically and mentally to face the examination period with confidence and composure. The session focused on providing participants with scientific mechanisms for managing anxiety and stress levels, while highlighting effective time management strategies that ensure the curriculum is covered without additional pressure.
Methodology:
The workshop adopted an applied psychological counseling approach, which included:
• Reviewing strategies to enhance focus and self-motivation through positive thinking and clearly defining goals.
• Explaining how to deal with the pressures of unexpected exams and avoid situations of fear and confusion that may affect mental performance.
• Providing a set of practical guidelines and simple mental exercises to help students achieve the psychological balance and stability necessary for achieving the best academic results. The workshop witnessed remarkable student engagement, as this initiative contributed to creating a reassuring and uplifting atmosphere. This reflects the department's commitment to supporting its students not only academically but also in their psychological and educational development.
Objectives of the Awareness Activity:
This activity aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by Al-Mustaqbal University, including:
