Within the activities of the "4th Al-Mustaqbal International Sustainability Week," the Department of Fuel and Energy Engineering Technologies at the College of Engineering Technology organized a scientific field trip for third-stage students to the (Hilla Gas Power Station 1) on May 3, 2026. The trip included a group of faculty members and students, aiming to enhance field skills and provide direct insight into the operational mechanisms of power generation plants. The field trip was conducted under the direct scientific supervision of Dr. Hussein Kadhim Hulwas. The program included a review of the generating units and technologies used in energy production, as well as methods to improve performance in accordance with environmental sustainability standards. The visit witnessed extensive interaction from the students through scientific inquiries and technical discussions with the specialized engineers at the station. This contributed to strengthening academic understanding and linking theoretical aspects with practical field reality. Through these activities, the department aims to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) and Goal 4 (Quality Education), by preparing an engineering generation capable of innovating sustainable energy solutions. The department confirmed that organizing this trip is part of its scientific plan to develop students' skills and provide comprehensive educational experiences, thereby enhancing the efficiency of educational outcomes and serving the national energy sector.
