The Educational and Psychological Counseling Committee in the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering held a discussion session titled Building Trust with Patients in Rehabilitation, conducted by Engineer Aya Talib Hassan on 27/4/2026, with the participation of third-year students. The session focused on the importance of the human aspect in rehabilitation practice and the role of mutual trust in improving patient response and enhancing the effectiveness of treatment plans. It also reviewed key skills required for specialists to build positive relationships with patients, such as empathy, clarity in communication, respect for patient privacy, and the creation of a supportive environment that encourages active patient participation in the rehabilitation process. This activity aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 10 (Reduced Inequalities), by improving the quality of rehabilitative services and ensuring care that is respectful and inclusive. The session saw notable student engagement, reflecting their understanding of the importance of strong professional relationships in achieving better therapeutic outcomes.
