Student Initiative on Prosthetics Awareness and Rehabilitation

A student awareness initiative titled “Prosthetics Awareness and Rehabilitation” was implemented within the university campus, aiming to enhance knowledge about prosthetic devices and their role in improving individuals’ quality of life, as well as highlighting the stages of physical and psychological rehabilitation after limb loss. The initiative was carried out by Engineer Hadeer Hossam Hashem, with the participation of the students (Ghadir Saleh Abdul Zaid, Zahraa Hussein Karim, Biyader Sahib Matar, and Hawraa Hamza Abdul Hussein) on April 21, 2026. The initiative addressed educational aspects related to modern prosthetic technologies and the importance of psychological and social support for patients during the rehabilitation process, in addition to encouraging teamwork and meaningful student initiatives. This activity aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, by promoting specialized health awareness. This initiative reflects the university’s commitment to empowering students to actively participate in scientific and community activities that contribute to serving society and enhancing health awareness.
