The Faculty of Education at Al-Mustaqbal University, represented by its Women's Affairs Unit and in cooperation with the Women's Affairs Division at the University Presidency, organized an awareness workshop entitled "Training Women Leaders in Political Participation and Development." The workshop was held under the patronage of the Dean of the Faculty, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Radwan Salman, and under the supervision of the Head of the Unit, Professor Dr. Thanaa Bahaa El-Din Abdullah. The workshop took place on Sunday, April 19, 2026, in the Psychological Counseling Room at the Faculty, with the participation of several female faculty members and administrative staff. This initiative aimed to support women's empowerment and enhance their leadership role in society. The workshop was presented by Assistant Lecturer Mary Omran Mahdi, who addressed a range of topics focusing on the concept of women's leadership, methods for developing and preparing women for effective participation in the political development process, and highlighting the importance of women's leadership in building a cohesive and stable society. The workshop also addressed the importance of Iraqi women possessing psychological resilience, endurance, and sound decision-making skills, in addition to achieving a balance between their various roles in the family, work, and society, which contributes to enhancing their competence and empowerment. The workshop witnessed significant interaction from the attendees through their participation in discussions and the exchange of opinions, which contributed to deepening understanding and enriching the dialogue on the workshop's topic. This event falls within the framework of implementing the National Plan to Combat Violence Against Women and Girls 2026 (Axis Three/Paragraph Two), and contributes to achieving Sustainable Development Goal Four, which relates to ensuring quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all.
