Engineer Aya Talib Hassan organized a scientific seminar titled “Awareness of Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering Students about the Concept of Sustainability” on Monday, April 20, 2026, with the participation of a number of students from the department. The seminar aimed to enhance students’ understanding of sustainability and its importance in both engineering and medical fields, with a focus on its applications in the design and manufacturing of prosthetic limbs in ways that consider environmental, economic, and social dimensions. It also addressed the role of students in adopting sustainable practices that contribute to reducing resource consumption and improving production efficiency. This seminar aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4: Quality Education, Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, and Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, by promoting a culture of sustainability and raising students’ awareness of their role in achieving sustainable development. The seminar witnessed positive engagement from attendees, with various ideas and discussions reflecting students’ interest in applying sustainability concepts within their field, contributing to serving the community and building a more sustainable future.
