Enhancing Professional Ethics in Caring for Prosthetic Limb Patients within the Framework of Sustainable Development

As part of promoting humanitarian and professional values, Engineer Aya Talib Hassan organized a scientific seminar titled “Professional Ethics in Dealing with Prosthetic Limb Patients” on Monday, April 20, 2026, with the attendance of students and individuals interested in the field of prosthetics and orthotics engineering. The seminar addressed the importance of adhering to professional ethics when dealing with patients, including respecting their privacy, strengthening effective human communication, and providing psychological support alongside technical care, ensuring the best therapeutic outcomes and improving patients’ quality of life. It also highlighted the engineer’s role in bearing both professional and humanitarian responsibility. This seminar aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, Goal 4: Quality Education, and Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities, by raising awareness about the importance of delivering fair and humane healthcare services to all segments of society, especially people with disabilities. The seminar witnessed notable engagement from attendees, who emphasized the importance of such activities in enhancing students’ professional and ethical awareness, contributing to preparing qualified cadres capable of serving the community efficiently and responsibly.
