Sustainable Agricultural Practices Using Modern Technologies

The College of Agricultural Technologies organized a specialized scientific workshop entitled “Sustainable Agricultural Practices Using Modern Technologies” on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, with the participation of a number of faculty members, students, and individuals interested in the agricultural field. The workshop lecture was delivered by Professor Dr. Majid Kazem Al-Hamzawi, Head of the Department of Medicinal Plants, who presented key contemporary concepts in sustainable agriculture. He emphasized the importance of employing advanced technologies such as smart farming, modern irrigation systems, and remote sensing techniques to enhance agricultural efficiency and minimize the waste of natural resources. The workshop also addressed the role of technological innovation in confronting environmental challenges, including climate change and water scarcity, in addition to improving agricultural productivity in a sustainable manner that meets food security requirements. The event witnessed notable interaction from attendees through questions and scientific discussions that enriched the session. This workshop comes ضمن a series of scientific activities aimed at promoting awareness of sustainable agricultural practices and supporting the adoption of modern technologies in the agricultural sector in line with sustainable development goals.
