A scientific seminar titled “The Role of Engineers in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals” was held on April 6, 2026, aiming to highlight the vital role engineers play in advancing sustainable development through innovation and sustainable engineering solutions.
The seminar covered several key topics, most notably the contribution of engineering disciplines to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:
Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, through the development of sustainable engineering projects and technologies.
Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, by designing environmentally friendly infrastructure.
Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy, by supporting the use of renewable energy sources.
The seminar also emphasized the role of engineers in addressing environmental challenges and achieving a balance between technological advancement and the preservation of natural resources.
