In cooperation with the English Language and Literature Department, the Media Department at Al-Mustaqbal University held a specialized awareness lecture titled "Domestic Violence: Causes, Effects, and Solutions" on Sunday, April 12, 2026. The lecture targeted students of the English Department to enhance their awareness of fundamental social issues. The session was presented by Assistant Lecturer Nomas Adhab Khafif and Assistant Lecturer Baraa Sattar Hamad, who provided a comprehensive scientific presentation addressing the roots of domestic violence and its negative impact on individual and social stability. They also reviewed effective ways to curb such behaviors by promoting values of understanding and sound coexistence. The lecture included a video presentation that realistically illustrated the dimensions of the problem, contributing to a deeper understanding among students of the nature of family pressures and how to confront them. The lecturers emphasized the necessity of establishing an atmosphere of love and harmony as a civilized alternative to violence, highlighting the role of youth in building a healthy family environment based on mutual respect. The hall witnessed significant interaction from the English Department students through valuable discussions and interventions that enriched the scientific theme of the lecture. This activity contributed to solidifying the humanitarian principles adopted by the university within its programs aimed at developing cultural and social awareness among its students across various disciplines.
