The Department of Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Industries at the College of Engineering, Future University, on Saturday, March 14, 2026, in the activities of the University Tree Planting Day as part of the campaign launched by the university to plant ten thousand perennial tree saplings on campus, in support of the National Tree Planting Program and to promote environmental efforts. The event took place in the presence of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Ali Shaker Magdy, along with the department chair and a number of faculty members and students, who actively contributed to planting the saplings throughout the campus, in a move that reflects the spirit of cooperation and teamwork. This initiative aims to support environmental initiatives and promote sustainability by increasing green spaces on campus, as well as raising environmental awareness among students and fostering a culture of volunteerism, thereby contributing to environmental protection and achieving sustainable development within the university community. The Department Chair emphasized the department’s ongoing commitment to participating in environmental initiatives organized by the university, given their important role in fostering social responsibility among students, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 13 on climate action and Goal 15 on life on land.
