Promoting Health Awareness and Strengthening the Role of Nursing in Serving the Community
As part of its ongoing efforts to promote health awareness and foster a culture of prevention, the College of Nursing at Future University organized a health awareness campaign focused on the early detection of indicators for diabetes, hypertension, and obesity. The campaign targeted individuals visiting the university’s Central Registration Department and involved faculty members and students from various academic levels.
The campaign included preliminary health screenings and measurements—such as blood pressure, blood glucose levels, weight, height, and Body Mass Index (BMI) calculations—to identify health indicators that may require medical follow-up. Additionally, participants received guidance on the importance of regular check-ups, balanced nutrition, physical activity, and the adoption of healthy lifestyles to help prevent chronic diseases and their complications.
The initiative was met with a positive response from those who participated. It also served as a valuable educational opportunity for nursing students to apply their theoretical knowledge and practical skills in a real-world university setting, enhance health-related communication with the community, and instill the values of professional and humanitarian responsibility in the next generation of nursing professionals.
This initiative underscores the mission of the College of Nursing at Future University and its commitment to preparing competent nursing professionals who possess both scientific knowledge and practical skills—professionals who contribute effectively to health promotion, disease prevention, and service to the community.
