In a significant step reflecting Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to leveraging technology and innovation to enhance the educational environment, the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, inaugurated the LabMentor Smart Laboratory Education Platform in the laboratories of the Department of Biochemistry at the College of Science. The inauguration was attended by the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi; the Dean of the College of Science, Dr. Furat Hamza Al-Sultani; the Head of the Department of Biochemistry, Dr. Nasser Abdul-Hassan Nasser; and the Head of Medical Laboratories, Prof. Dr. Dakhil Nasser Taha. The platform represents a digital initiative designed to enhance practical learning and transform laboratory training into an interactive smart model by leveraging modern technologies to support students throughout the learning and practical application stages. It aims to improve students’ proficiency in using laboratory devices and equipment while enhancing their scientific and practical readiness. This initiative is part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s vision of transitioning toward a smart and sustainable university, as well as its commitment to developing the educational infrastructure through the adoption of digital solutions and smart technologies that contribute to improving the quality of education and training, enhancing the efficiency of laboratory procedures, supporting safety requirements, and expanding automation and digital transformation across academic, administrative, and laboratory operations. LabMentor: A Digital Environment Supporting Laboratory Learning The LabMentor platform provides comprehensive educational and instructional content that assists students in identifying laboratory devices and equipment, understanding their components and functions, learning their operating mechanisms and associated safety requirements, and becoming familiar with the procedures for conducting practical experiments. In this way, the platform serves as a digital support tool throughout the stages of learning, preparation, and practical application in the laboratory. The platform also contributes to organizing and presenting laboratory knowledge in a clearer and more interactive manner, helping students establish stronger connections between theoretical knowledge and practical application and enhancing their ability to operate laboratory technologies and equipment according to scientific and systematic principles. Student Innovation Harnessing Technology to Serve Education The LabMentor platform is distinguished as one of the innovative student initiatives developed by students of the Al-Mustaqbal Student Research Club at Al-Mustaqbal University. The initiative reflects the role of students in knowledge creation and their ability to employ scientific and technical skills in developing digital solutions that serve the educational process.
